Charles Court, Granada

Built in 1533 Charles palace adjoins the Alhambra palace in Granada. This is a picture of its circular courtyard, which connects all of its rooms. The juxtaposition of its renaissance design and the Nasrid palaces it is connected to is striking. It's as if its construction signifies weight and power against the elegance and beauty of the original Alhambra complex.
